What Gives Your Age Away

None of us want to age. We want to stay young forever. Nevertheless, aging is a part of life and no one can escape it. Signs of aging will show up gradually. But some signs show up sooner than others and are much more obvious. MD Beauty Secrets reveals what visibly gives your age away and how to decelerate the aging process.

Hands

Your hands, more so than any other body part, are the first to give your age away.

You may start to notice your hands are aging in your 30s, or in your 40s when it is more apparent.

Over the years, our hands go through a lot. We have a tendency to be the roughest with our hands, relying on them for everything, and not taking much notice of them due to our busy lifestyles. We wash them multiple times throughout the day (undoubtedly with harsh soaps) and probably frequently forget to moisturize them, thus, entirely denying our hands of the moisture it needs to slow down the aging process. Furthermore, the sun is known to be one of the main causes of premature aging. However, when we apply sunscreen we apply it everywhere else completely forgetting our hands.

It’s important to keep your hands well moisturized with thick creams, especially overnight. Always wear sunscreen and apply it to the back of your hands.

Neck & Chest

Usually when we use anti-aging skin care products we apply it to our face forgetting to also apply it our neck and chest. Your neck and chest will age faster because the skin is thinner on your neck and chest than the skin on your face, therefore, more likely to lose elasticity earlier. Plus, your neck and chest are exposed the most to the sun, making it more vulnerable to sun damage.

Applying preventative skin care products to your neck and chest in addition to your face is essential, especially in your 30s before the aging process starts to dramatically take effect. Remember to also always apply sunscreen on your neck and chest to avoid sun damage and premature aging.

Eyes

When we think about aging skin our primary concern is our face. Applying preventative skin care products to your face is important but always remember your eyes are the main culprits when it comes to age giveaways.

The skin around your eyes is thinner than the rest of the skin on your face. As you age, your skin will lose its elasticity and become thinner due to the reduction of collagen. Accordingly, “crow’s feet” will start to develop around the eyes during your early 30s, which are visible fine lines. As the years pass you’ll notice the sagging pouches and dark circles under your eyes as well.

Apply a daily serum or cream to the corners of your eyes and under your eyes. Keeping the area hydrated and getting plenty of sleep will help reduce early signs of aging.
