Reducing the Appearance of Dark Spots and Scars
Dark spots and scars were once considered permanent unwanted marks. You were just stuck with them and had to cope with them. However, with today’s technology and medicine almost all blemishes and indelible spots can be reduced to the point of nothingness. In some cases you could reduce the appearance of such unwanted marks and spots with mere topical treatments. Here’s how:
1) Always apply sunscreen with an SFP of 30 or higher that contains either titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.
The sun’s harmful rays cannot only damage your skin, but it can also worsen the appearance of your dark spots and scars. Sun exposure will tan the dark spot or scar, making it look darker. Cover your dark spots and scars, along with your body and face, with sunscreen that is 30 or higher in SPF.
2) Use a good mild cleanser.
Let’s be honest, you can’t scrub the unwanted spots and marks off your face or body. So don’t use harsh soaps or cleansers that will aggravate your skin and scars. Use a cleanser that has soothing ingredients. MD Beauty Secrets’ Gly/Sal Cleansers are gentle exfoliating facial cleanser with calming green tea extract. If your scars are from acne, good news! The cleanser also helps with treating and controlling acne. The anti-inflammatory green tea extract protects against free radicals while calming irritation.
3) Use a topical medication designed specifically to treat dark spots and scars.
MD Beauty Secrets uses lightening agents, such as kojic acid and hydroquinone, to treat stubborn dark spots and acne scars. We recommend using Retinol as well for better and quicker results. Microdermabrasion and chemical peels can help immensely for deeper scars and darker spots. The cosmetic procedures will also produce faster and more dramatic improvements.
4) Use cell repair treatments in combination with the topical medications.
MD Beauty Secrets offers Cell Repair Therapy, which is a repairing and protective serum for restoring skin’s radiance. This serum offers targeted delivery of repair enzymes, nourishing antioxidants and advanced moisturizers for overall skin health.
5) Patience…it is not only a virtue but also a must when treating dark spots and scars.
Be patient when treating your dark spots and scars. The period of time in which you will see results will depend on the depth and darkness of the scar. You won’t see a dramatic improvement in one day. Just as healing takes time, fading stubborn marks and spots will take time too.
If you do not see any improvements or results after 4-6 weeks of using our recommended skin care products please consult MD Beauty Secrets’ clinic.
