Your 2 Essential Skincare Products-Cleanser & Sunscreen

Most people do not realize the importance of adopting a proper skincare regimen until it is too late. The truth is what you use can really make a difference in your skin. But if money is an issue or you just do not have the time and energy to apply multiple products to your skin, at least be sure that you use a good quality cleanser and sunscreen.

Cleansers

Cleansing is the building block of maintaining healthy skin yet it will probably be the most effortless and low-cost part of your healthy skincare routine. Cleansing will remove excess oil, dirt, bacteria, makeup and other impurities from your skin while improving its health and radiance. Cleansing also preps your skin for the application of other skincare products allowing your skin to absorb serums and/or moisturizers better. By clearing out your pores you are letting the skincare product(s) to penetrate into your skin for maximum effectiveness. Using a cleanser that suits your skin type is very important. Ideally, you want your cleanser to be gentle but strong enough to remove residue and impurities effectively.  Soaps are too harsh for your face, and can worsen your skin leaving it dry and irritated.

MD Beauty Secrets has the best cleansers for you!

Our Glycolic and Salicylic Acid Cleansers are great for any skin type. The Gly/Sal 2-2 Cleanser is a gentle exfoliating facial cleanser that contains calming green tea extract. The combination of 2% glycolic acid and 2% salicylic acid promotes exfoliation while gently removing dead skin and clearing pores of dirt and impurities. Proper skin cleansing clears pores of debris to prevent dirt buildup, thus decreasing the chances of a breakout. The Gly/Sal 2-2 Cleanser is ideal for sensitive, normal and combination skin.

We also carry a more potent version of the Gly/Sal Cleanser that is suitable for acne-prone skin and oily skin. Although, the Gly/Sal 5-2 Cleanser contains 5% pure glycolic acid, it is still a gentle cleanser owing to its soothing green tea extract that protects your skin against free radicals while calming irritation.

For a skin-refining and acne-beating cleanser, our Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Wash is formulated to help keep acne-prone skin clear and cleansed. This wash thoroughly cleanses acne-prone skin with a special soap-free cleanser and is fortified with Benzoyl Peroxide for anti-bacterial protection. The cleanser will keep the skin refined and the pores free of blemish-causing bacteria. With daily use, you will begin to notice a difference in skin clarity and texture.

Sunscreens

Sunscreen is a MUST when it comes to your skin because it protects you against skin cancer and it is the absolute best anti-aging product out there. However, not all sunscreens are equal. The type of sunscreen you use and how you apply is incredibly important.

When choosing the right sunscreen for you and your skin type there’s a couple things to take into consideration. The strength of your sunscreen is crucial. Always use sunscreens that have an SPF of 30 or higher. The ingredients in your sunscreen can also make a huge difference. Depending on the integral chemicals and ingredients, your sunscreen may do a great job blocking UV radiation but dissolve quickly under the sun’s rays. Such sunscreens can lose as much as 90% of their effectiveness in just an hour of sun exposure. Sunscreens with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are the exception. Make sure your sunscreen contains micronized zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, as the nanoparticles ensure effective protection and compatibility with all skin tones. What’s more, they won’t leave a whitish cast.

Application is just as significant as the type of sunscreen you use. Make sure you apply sunscreen 30 minutes prior to sun exposure and every 2 hours after that if you remain outdoors to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays. Be generous but do not overdo with the amount of sunscreen you use. A mere dab will not suffice. Cover all areas including: face, neck, ears, shoulders, hands, and anywhere else that will be exposed to the sun’s damaging rays.

If you still get sunburned when outdoors, you most likely didn’t reapply the sunscreen throughout the day or you didn’t apply enough. Remember to reapply every 2 hours when outdoors and to use a generous amount of sunscreen to fully cover exposed skin.

MD Beauty Secrets offers a variety of sunscreens with an SPF of 30 or higher. All of our sunscreens have beneficial nutrients such as vitamins and antioxidants. In addition, every single one of our sunscreens contains micronized zinc oxide. Zinc oxide is one of the most effective and the less expensive options for UV radiation protection.
