Green leafy vegetables are full of minerals and vitamins. They contain a lot of water which is also a good way to hydrate your body.

Caring for your skin by eating foods rich in antioxidants helps to protect your skin from the damage that occurs from UV rays from the sun. Although sunscreens should still be used when we are in the sun for any period of time, antioxidants will also assist in the protection of the skin due to it working from the inside of our bodies to the outside.

Antioxidants are found in all of the food groups that include poultry, fish, grains, nuts as well as fruits and vegetables. Any foods that have vitamins A, C and E along with minerals like selenium are found to be very helpful to skin care. These essential vitamins and minerals strengthen and encourage the regrowth of cells and tissues because they assist our bodies in repairing damages. Selenium is the form of selenomethionine which is found the human body’s tissues. This mineral incorporates itself with the amino acid methionine which is found in our body’s protein.

When it comes down to it, by incorporating only those foods found to be high in antioxidants to achieve healthier and younger skin anyone will find that it will have a positive effect. In general a healthy diet will give skin the necessary nutrients it needs.
